Terms of Service

Agreement and eligibility

By using EightFates, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, a parent or legal guardian must review and agree to these Terms with you.

Cultural and entertainment service

EightFates provides educational content, Chinese zodiac guides, and BaZi chart calculations for cultural reflection and entertainment. Symbolic descriptions and compatibility scores are not facts about a person and do not predict a guaranteed outcome.

The service is not medical, mental-health, legal, financial, investment, employment, relationship-safety, or other professional advice. Do not use a chart, reading, score, or article as the sole basis for a high-impact decision. Seek a qualified professional and rely on real-world evidence where a decision affects health, safety, rights, money, or another person.

Accounts

You are responsible for providing accurate account information, protecting access to your account, and notifying us if you suspect unauthorized use. You may not impersonate another person, create accounts for abuse, or attempt to bypass authentication or feature gates.

Calculator limitations

Chart output depends on the information supplied and the stated calculation model. An inaccurate birth time, city, time zone, or gender choice used by the traditional luck-pillar rule can change parts of the result. Historical time-zone information may be less certain for older dates. True solar time requires longitude. Unknown or approximate time can produce a three-pillar chart, a range, or multiple candidates.

The calculator exposes uncertainty rather than guaranteeing a single answer at every boundary. The public calculator and its proxy remain disabled until the project’s accuracy gate is met. Access to a protected preview does not authorize attempts to defeat that protection or make the service public.

Different BaZi schools can use different rules and interpretive methods. EightFates does not warrant agreement with every practitioner, source, or software product. Calculation bugs should be reported to us; interpretive disagreement alone does not create a guarantee of a particular reading.

No payments in this release

Locked report sections and early-access calls to action are previews only. Payments and paid reports are not enabled in this release. A locked section is not an offer to sell, and no purchase is required to use public zodiac and educational pages. If paid services are introduced later, the applicable price, refund terms, and additional conditions will be shown before purchase.

Acceptable use

You may not misuse the service, interfere with its operation, probe or bypass security controls, extract private keys, overwhelm endpoints, automate abusive traffic, upload malicious material, infringe intellectual-property or privacy rights, or use outputs to harass, discriminate against, deceive, or make consequential decisions about another person without an appropriate lawful basis.

You may link to public editorial pages and quote short portions with attribution. You may not copy the service, proprietary template code, site design, or substantial editorial content for redistribution or commercial imitation except where a separate license expressly permits it.

Third-party services and data

The service relies on providers for hosting, authentication, database infrastructure, email, and aggregate analytics. Their availability and terms may affect certain features. Google sign-in is governed in part by Google’s terms when you choose it.

City and time-zone data is adapted from GeoNames cities15000 under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 License. GeoNames is credited at geonames.org. External links are provided for context; we do not control third-party sites.

Intellectual property

EightFates content, branding, compilation, interface, and original software are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws and licenses. Some underlying software and data are used under their respective licenses and attribution requirements. These Terms do not transfer ownership to you.

You retain rights in information you submit. You grant us only the limited permission needed to process that information to provide, secure, and support the service as described in the Privacy Policy.

Availability and changes

We may modify, suspend, restrict, or discontinue features, including preview features, to maintain security, comply with law, or improve accuracy. We do not promise uninterrupted availability. We may update these Terms and will identify the current version by the updated date; continued use after an effective update constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.

Disclaimers and limitation

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted operation, fitness for a particular purpose, or a particular interpretive outcome. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or liability that cannot legally be excluded.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, EightFates is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss arising from reliance on symbolic content, inability to access the service, or unauthorized misuse. This limitation does not apply where prohibited by law.

Termination

You may stop using the service at any time and request account deletion at privacy@eightfates.com. We may suspend or terminate access for material violations, security risk, legal requirements, or abuse. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitations—will survive.
